Generative AI Literacy Initiative

NexGenAI is designed to provide universities and research institutions with cutting-edge AI tools and resources to push the boundaries of knowledge and equip the next generation of AI leaders. Through this initiative, the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS), in association with the Texas A&M University College of Engineering, will spearhead the Generative AI Literacy Initiative, which aims to expand AI fluency among students, researchers, and industry professionals and build on the significant steps that Texas A&M has already taken toward AI education and awareness.

About the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS)

The Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS) was created in 2017 and was jointly established by TAMU, TEES, and AgriLife, operating under the Division of Research. TAMIDS aims to increase data literacy and promote Data Science research and education in the Texas A&M community and beyond. TAMIDS pursues new approaches to Data Science research, education, operation, and partnership.

TAMIDS serves as a hub for interdisciplinary research, education, and collaboration in AI, machine learning, and all areas of data science. TAMIDS brings together faculty, students, and industry partners to solve real-world problems using data-driven approaches. The Generative AI Literacy Initiative is one of TAMIDS’ key outreach programs, designed to foster understanding and responsible use of emerging AI technologies.
